Station: Twin Lake Junction, MI

Twin Lake Junction was a significant AuSable & North Western railroad junction in eastern Oscoda County after 1901. The main line from Au Sable came northwest to here through Iosco and Alcona counties after the Loud interests took over the road from the bankrupt Potts Logging Company.

From Twin Lakes, the main line continued north to Hardy and Comins.

Notes

There was also a branch southwest to Potts (later McKinley) which branched to Luzerne and northwest to Lewiston (via Fairview). Twin Lake Junction was about one mile north of Potts/McKinley which was the forest headquarters for the railroad under the ownership of the J.E. Potts Salt & Lumber company. They had a mill and railroad shops at Potts. Potts was renamed McKinley after the Loud company took over their operations.

The A&NW railroad was leased to the Detroit & Mackinac railroad in 1912 and then sold to them in 1914. They changed the gauge on most remaining lines to standard gauge.
