Time Line

1900. This is a telegraph station on the Ann Arbor railroad. [OG-1900]

1902. A petition was received from a number of citizens of the village of Lucas, asking that the Ann Arbor Railroad Company be required to maintain an agent and operator at that station. While there does not appear to be any specific provision of law authorizing orders of this nature, the matter was taken up with the railroad company, and a statement was received that the company had provided a suitable building for sheltering passengers and baggage and for any small freight that might be offered. Also, that it had constructed and given free use of a telephone line connecting the company's office at Cadillac, which would appear to be satisfactory service. [MCR-1903]
