Notes

The lease terms required the LS&MS to maintain the property, pay the interest on its bonded indebtedness, renew its mortgage and bonds from time to time, and protect the said company from and against the same. It is also to pay six percent on the capital stock of the said company. The capital stock of the road is owned by a large number of individual stockholders (99) which which 9 are in Michigan. The road was 58.45 miles in length, along with 12.41 miles of sidings and spurs.
