Railroad: Hermansville & Western railroad

The Hermansville & Western railroad was built around 1883 to serve the logging camps of the IXL lumber operations in Menominee County. The main line of 9.1 miles also had a number of branch lines. The line was abandoned in 1908. [MRL]

1885. Extended from Camp 8 to milepost 9.1, about 5 miles. [MRL]

1886. Southwest branch built between Camp 11 and Camp 11-3, 3.6 miles. [MRL]

1908. Entire line abandoned. [MRL]
