The Boyne City, Gaylord and Alpena depot in Atlanta, Michigan.  Atlanta is the county seat of Montmorency County.  It received rail service for only a short period of time between about 1918 and 1932 when the BCG&A was abandoned east of Boyne Falls.

Atlanta is the county seat of Montmorency County and was served from approximately 1920 to 1932 by the Boyne City, Gaylord & Alpena Railroad.  Typically, Atlanta saw one mixed passenger and freight train in each direction each day, Monday through Saturday.  But at times, extra trains were operated such as in the February, 1922 snow storm pictured below:

The Boyne City, Gaylord & Alpena Railroad entered Atlanta on the north side of town, crossing M-33 north.  Once east of town, it crossed south of M-32 on the way to Rust and ultimately Alpena.  Records suggest that Atlanta was the only open block station on the line between Gaylord and Alpena.
