This bridge, light green in color, remains in use as an emergency exit for Zug Island. It is a swing bridge. |

Foreman Street crossing, east of Foreman Avenue north of the NS Main Line |
This is the location where the DD&D branch originally crossed the Foreman Wye. By the time the PRR came to Detroit and built the wye, the DD&D had been moved to widen the river. The branch continued to be used for industry along the river. Some tracks are still in place. |
Vision... a PRR job headed across this crossing, headed for the Union Belt tracks in Dearborn and northwest Detroit. |

Junction Yard humps |
Pass under the tracks at Lonyo Avenue, just south of John Kronk St. and look up at the top of the hump. |
Vision... the hump engineer waiting for the next pull forward signal, as the hump conductor uncoupled the cars and hump operator set the retarders. |

MC Coal Yard, within the wye between Town Line, Schaffer Tower and Junction Yard. |
The MC stored bulk coal along both sides of at least four stub tracks at this location. An ice house was also located near here. |
Vision... large steam-powered shovels distributing coal among the storage piles. |

This yard has been gone for 25 years but there are a number of remnants left, such as roadbed, and light towers. |
Vision... the Yardmaster, in his tower, yelling over track side squawk boxes to switch crews in the yard. |

West Detroit Tower |
The crossing of the MC main line and the Wabash and NYC lines to Milwaukee Jct. The brick tower is still standing. |
Vision... the train director and his two leverman, keeping up with constant movements on dozens of tracks. The slip switches connecting the MC main line to the Toledo Branch. |
