The GTW CTC machine controlling the Holly Subdivision

The Grand Trunk Western Holly Subdivision dispatcher was located in the 2nd floor of the Durand depot until 1972.  This CTC (Centralized Traffic Control) "machine" was installed in 1951 and eliminated many of the station operator jobs west of Pontiac to Pitt, near Durand.  The machine was a Union Switch and Signal product.  The stations and sidings controlled by this unit were West Pontiac, Andersonville, Holly, Linden, Gaines, and East Durand (now called Pitt).  [Photo: Doug Leffler in April,1969, other information from Michael Burgett]
